Vitamin L – The Most Important Nutrient
Brentt Shropshire and Georgette Heron-Dunn grew up exactly 1976.1 miles apart; Brentt was born in Arlington, TX and Georgette was born in Edmonton, AB. As fate would have it, on December 31st, 2002 Brentt and Georgette crossed paths on the last day of the year in Washington, DC. Strangers at the beginning of the night, subsequently turned into dance partners as the clock struck 12. The two stayed up to the wee hours of the morning talking endlessly, which ironically foreshadowed what would one day be the backbone of their relationship…
Over the next couple of days Georgette and Brentt enjoyed each other’s company until she had to return to Toronto, where she lived. On January 2nd - her birthday, she left DC with an unexpected present – meeting Brentt! They slowly began a tremendous friendship that blossomed into a long-distance relationship. Trips between Washington and Toronto became more frequent as their feeling matured and grew. Brentt eventually returned to his home town of Dallas, Texas to begin a new career and this subsequently tested the strength of their relationship as Dallas was much further away from Toronto.
Yet, love prevailed and on December 30, 2012 (almost 10 years from their first meeting) Brentt and Georgette married at the Orion Ballroom in Dallas, Texas amongst their friends and family. Their loved ones travelled from Edmonton, Toronto, New York, Florida and Jamaica to share in their beautiful love story. Georgette happily sang and danced down the aisle to Bob Marley’s “Is this Love” while Brentt beamingly watched. Their love story had its challenges and long distance was a battle, yet Brentt often said over the years that it would all be “Worth It!” Perseverance and dedication to their commitment was and will always sustain this love story!
